Annabelle's recent experience at the Dallas Networking trip was one she won’t soon forget, and she highly recommends it to anyone, whether you're a networking pro or just starting out.
For Annabelle, the trip was a chance to grow and improve her networking skills, and it did not disappoint.
"I went on this trip to gain experience and become better at networking, and we had plenty of opportunities to learn from others at the companies and interact with them naturally," Annabelle shares. She found that connecting with professionals on a personal level helped demystify some of the technical skills that initially seemed daunting. "The technical skills required seemed intimidating at first, but I quickly realized that most of it is learned on the job or through the process itself. We are all lifelong learners."
One of her key takeaways from the trip was the value of continuous improvement, which she witnessed firsthand at Toyota. "Kaizen is one of Toyota's key principles – continuous improvement – and I saw how present this idea was in every aspect of the workforce. We are always learning and improving!" Annabelle also learned the importance of pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. "Networking honestly scared me, but this trip pushed me to meet amazing people I’ll stay connected with."
Annabelle’s experience didn’t end when the trip did. "I connected with a professional after the trip, and we reviewed my resume together," she says. "People will offer to help you in your professional career, and you should always take them up on it!"
The Dallas Networking trip was a valuable opportunity for Annabelle, not just for professional growth but for personal development as well. She encourages others to take the plunge, no matter where they are on their networking journey.
