Cameron recently combined his technical and communication skills to write an article aimed at helping fellow IS students navigate their job and internship search. While originally written for MCOM 320, he approached the project with a broader purpose—to provide valuable insights for students exploring career opportunities in Information Systems.
Connecting Data to Storytelling
Through the IS program, Cameron learned how to use data to tell a compelling story, a skill that shaped his approach to writing the article. His research reinforced an encouraging message:
✅ There are numerous career paths available to IS graduates
✅ Job opportunities remain strong, with many offering competitive wages
✅ IS students have flexibility to find roles that align with their skills and interests
Beyond the Classroom
While writing this article, Cameron was also completing a part-time internship with the IS department, where he helped develop a system to display and track alumni. Though his technical work didn't directly impact the article, his experiences in the program deepened his understanding of IS career pathways.
Looking Ahead
Cameron hopes that his article will inspire and guide fellow IS students as they pursue internships and jobs. His ability to bridge data, storytelling, and technical expertise is a testament to the well-rounded foundation the IS program provides.
We’re excited to see what Cameron does next—best of luck on your journey!
