Founder of Habit & Code
Alumni Spotlight

Julian Sookhoo, a BYU alum and founder of Habit & Code, has redefined success by aligning his work with his own passions and values. Through his course, AI Job Search Hacks, he empowers job seekers to leverage AI ethically, while his podcast, Trials and Triumphs, shares inspiring lessons from diverse guests. After years of seeking external validation, Julian shifted his focus to personal fulfillment, transforming his approach to life and challenges. His advice? "Stop chasing validation. Start pursuing yourself"—a principle that now guides his impactful work.

What has been one of the key takeaways or principles you’ve learned since interviewing the other people and hearing their experiences?
People will surprise you, even the people you think you know well. I've been amazed by the stories and experiences I've learned from those closest to me and even those I barely know. Each of us has faced more than we realize, and our own stories, which may seem normal to us, are far more powerful than we think.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Right now, Tanzania is at the top of my list. Or Dallas—because that’s where my sweetheart is, and I can't wait to move there to be with her.

Do you have a favorite hobby?
Outside of my podcast? Probably reading or writing letters to those in need.

Julian has also said, "Any admitted IS student interested in accessing my course can receive free access upon request." Feel free to reach out to him!
