Aiki Takaku is a member of the BYU Crocker Innovation Fellowship, where he is learning the fundamentals of startup business while working on an innovative IoT solution. His team recently won 1st place at BYU’s Peery Business and Startups For Good Idea Showcase for developing cooling inserts for baby car seats, a product designed to improve child safety and comfort.

Main Responsibilities:

Aiki plays a key role in the project, leveraging his background in coding and project management from the IS program. His ability to quickly learn new programming languages and effectively organize teams has been instrumental in collaborating across different fields and ensuring the product meets real customer needs.

The showcase provided an opportunity to validate the value of the team’s product and gain insights from potential users. Moving forward, Aiki and his team are focused on passing the necessary safety tests required for car-related products in the U.S. to bring their solution to market.

Future Aspirations:

Beyond entrepreneurship, Aiki hopes to travel the world and experience different cultures, as the U.S. is the only country he has visited outside of his home country.
