We are thrilled to announce that Brendan Vick has accepted a position as a Software Engineering Intern with GTRI (Georgia Tech Research Institute) at Hill Air Force Base, Utah! This incredible opportunity allows Brendan to contribute to and learn from a highly esteemed team. Reflecting on this achievement, Brendan shared on LinkedIn: "The last few weeks as a Software Engineering Intern at GTRI have been incredible! Here are a few things I have been able to do:
- Assemble physical server stacks to run LMOC (Live Mission Operations Capability).
- Write testable, high-quality code in C#, utilizing protocol buffers to communicate between applications.
- Develop NUnit tests and documentation for our applications.
- Interface directly with hardware to gather data for our applications.
- Test functionality by using VMs to simulate different communication aspects of our applications.
- Utilize agile methodologies to quickly iterate on our solutions.
- Engage with brilliant colleagues who challenge me to grow and learn every day.
Our ATAS (Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems Laboratory) team at Hill AFB is working on LMOC, a system of systems that enables US Air Force warfighters to train more effectively. Our solutions are enhancing performance across the Air Force.
I am very grateful to be part of this impactful project and humbled by the opportunity. Looking forward to further expanding my skill set and contributing to innovative solutions over the next couple of months!"
